Guerrilla Graphix is a family-owned, employee profit-sharing enterprise
based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The history of guerrilla graphix

Guerrilla Graphix is a locally owned Albuquerque company first launched as a graphic design and print brokering business in 1996.  The first "adobe 'n' mortar" retail store opened near the University of New Mexico in July of 2008.  Founded by Travis Parkin and Ramona Snow Teo—a father-daughter team of graphic artists—the original store was seeded with a $10,000 VISA card credit line and a matching loan from a friend.  The shop featured designs that were largely political in nature and mostly printed on recycled shirts from local thrift stores.  A month or two after the the opening, the US economy tanked and although sales were pretty sparse for a few years, GG survived by moving increasingly toward the publishing/manufacturing of its own products—thus eliminating the middlemen and opening up wholesale markets for the company's increasingly popular merchandise.

Between 2008 and 2011, the company's product line was expanded and their graphics and messages were made available on postcards, stickers, coffee mugs, totes, messenger bags, art prints, aprons and magnets.  In 2010, the owners purchased a rickety screen press and dryer on Craig's List and hired Rachel Walsh, a local woman with a background in screen printing.  This was the birth of Guerrilla Graphix Screen Printing.  In the late spring of 2011, the company opened a second store—in Albuquerque's Old Town District.  That same year, the original store was moved to the East Nob Hill area and operations were further expanded to include print brokering and an
E-commerce site (you're on it right now!).  In August of 2011, the company began offering its
product line to wholesale customers.

In the fall of 2014, Guerrilla Graphix leased a 4,000 square foot warehouse and showroom facility in the old Union Baking Company building in East Nob Hill.  Quickly dubbed, Base Camp, by employees, this facility became and continues to be the company's screen print and printing intake and production center, as well as the hub for it'swholesale business.  In the fall of 2016, the Guerrilla Graphix store in East Nob Hill—which suffered from flagging sales due to competition from online retailers and the success of the company's own website—was moved to Taos, New Mexico, an artists' haven and popular tourist destination about 90 minutes north of Santa Fe.
The Taos retail store shares floor space with the Guerrilla Graphix Design & Branding Services Center
which also serves as a drop-off & pickup desk for screen printing and business printing orders.

Today, Guerrilla Graphix employs 13 people and has three contract employees. In addition to a monthly profit sharing distribution to its employees, team members receive a 50% discount in our stores and the company provides free lunch from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods (or a cash stipend) to all working team members, seven days a week. Guerrilla Graphix operates state-of-the-art manual and automatic screen printing presses and distributes its line of giftware to more than 25 businesses, mostly in the state of New Mexico.  A community oriented company, Guerrilla Graphix supports more than 20 worthwhile not-for-profits with cash or in-kind contributions, including New Mexico Public Radio (KUNM), The Standing Rock Legal Defense Fund,
Rebel Spinner Radio, Planned Parenthood of NM, the ACLU and
the Oo-oo-nah Children's Art Program at Taos Pueblo.
